Hall's Croft, SBT : Strategic Management Review
Strategy is key for any business, knowing who you are, what you are doing and want to achieve. When the Shakespeare Birthplace Trust (SBT) was offered Heritage Lottery Funding (HLF) conditionally upon undertaking an action plan to improve visitor access across their properties they sought support and advice on how to do so.
Hall’s Croft was the home of Shakespeare’s eldest daughter, Susanna, and her husband John Hall. SBT care for this and other properties connected to Shakespeare. Prior to the review the financial performance of Hall’s Croft was below average and in decline.
GVA RGA responded to the action plan from HLF and produced a business plan to support its implementation. The business plan included operational, human resource and marketing plans, as well as detailed financial projections. With this SBT were able to assess the impact of the action plan on their portfolio and make informed decisions.
